Avalanche Rescue Gear
A basic avalanche rescue kit contains three things: a transceiver, a shovel & a probe. With these three tools you can effectively find and rescue someone who is buried by snow. Your avalanche safety course level 1 (AST1) teaches you how to interpret weather, terrain and snow conditions so that you shouldn't have to actually use this equipment in a serious situation, however it also teach you how to carry out a rescue should it be necessary!

TRANSCEIVER
We use the Mammut PULSE Barryvox Beacon, the most up-to-date transceiver on the market. It's the easiest model to use, and is considered to be the most accurate model available.It's also lightweight, compact and nice to look at!

SHOVEL
Mammut's Alugator Light shovel is incredibly light & packs up small for your backpack. A flat section on the blade is great for shaping snow pits & the extendable blade will keep long arms happy.It's also a bright anodized blue, so easy to find in the snow!
