Getting to Whistler is pretty simple... there is only one road, thesea-to-sky highway (also called the 99), and if you drive it at the right time the view is unbeatable!
The first thing you need to decide is whether to come straight from the airport, or stay in Vancouver for a night or two...
The second thing to work out is what mode of transport you want to use: - Bus - Taxi - Hire Car/Limo - Sea-plane in the summer!
DIRECT FROM YVR (VANCOUVER AIRPORT) TO WHISTLER
Pacific Coaches operate regular scheduled services direct from the airport to Whistler all year round. The journey costs about $75 - unless you are staying with Ride On Whistler, then you get the trip half price!
You could also hire a car - it can be expensive (sometimes cheaper if you book in your home country, especially for UK licence holders) but if you have a group it might work out well. If you aren't comfortable driving in Canada, you can take a taxi for about $250 - book it in advance with a local Whistler company though as you don't want to be stuck on the highway with a driver who's never left the city before!
YVR AIRPORT TO VANCOUVER
To get downtown you can either take the sky-train for about $10, or a taxi for about $30. Simple as that.
DOWNTOWN VANCOUVER TO WHISTLER
The cheapest bus service is the Greyhound which you can catch from Pacific Central Station. They charge you per bag so be aware of that when you buy your ticket! Other bus services to check out are the Snowbus (designed for day-trippers really) and Pacific Coach.
