Getting To Whistler

Getting to Whistler is pretty simple… there is only one road, the sea-to-sky highway (also called the Highway 99), and if you drive it at the right time the view is unbeatable!

The first thing you need to decide is whether to come straight from the airport, or stay in Vancouver for a night or two…

The second thing to work out is what mode of transport you want to use:

  • Bus
  • Taxi
  • Hire Car/Limo
  • Sea-plane in the summer!

Direct from YVR

We now offer airport transfers! Just email us to book your transfer to or from Whistler. The shuttles are operated by the experts at Whistler Connection. They are $90 and pick you up right at the arrival gate. They base their schedule around you so if your flight is delayed, no need to worry about missing your shuttle. If you are brining a bike, please let us know. Bikes are an additional $25

When you arrive in Whistler, we even come to pick you up and take you and your stuff right to the property. This ensures that you get to the right room and are introduced to your new housemates. Arriving late? Let us know and we can make special arrangements to make sure you get to your new home with comfort and ease.

You could also hire a car – it can be expensive (sometimes cheaper if you book in your home country, especially for UK licence holders) but if you have a group it might work out well. If you aren’t comfortable driving in Canada, you can take a taxi for about $250 – book it in advance with a local Whistler company though as you don’t want to be stuck on the highway with a driver who’s never left the city before!

YVR to Vancouver

To get downtown you can either take the sky-train for about $10, or a taxi for about $30. Simple as that.

Downtown Vancouver to Whistler

The cheapest bus service is the Greyhound which you can catch from Pacific Central Station. They charge you per bag so be aware of that when you buy your ticket! Other bus services to check out are Epic Rides (designed for day-trippers really) and Pacific Coaches.

Sea-Plane - Summer only

If you really want to arrive in style, I suggest checking out Harbour Air  . They offer a variety of sea-plane flights and sight seeing tours from Vancouver harbour right into Whistler. There is no better way to experience the Sea-to-Sky area then through the window of a banking sea-plane. Prices vary depending on the day but the viewing experience is priceless.
